Otter Creek Interceptor Sewer

Otter Creek Interceptor Sewer, Elgin, Illinois
Project coordination, including construction observation, payout reviews, and monitoring field changes for the construction of over two miles of 48 inch sanitary interceptor sewer with depths up to 55 feet, which necessitated significant dewatering and the associated soil erosion and sediment control measures, existing wetlands restoration, and augering under existing highways. Services required coordination between the City of Elgin, Fox River Water Reclamation District, Kane County Department of Transportation, Illinois Department of Transportation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Kane DuPage Soil and Water Conservation District.

Winklehake Open Space Creek Restoration

Winklehake Open Space Creek Restoration, Schaumburg, Illinois
Provided design, bidding coordination, and daily observation for the installation of gabion baskets used to improve flow, prevent bank erosion, and preserve trees along a section of Plum Creek. This project was a joint venture of Winklehake Open Space Association, Three Lakes Business Park and the Village of Schaumburg Community Development Department.

McKesson Building

McKesson Building, Carol Stream, Illinois
In conjunction with upgrades to existing infrastructures and the expansion of an existing 32 acre warehouse and distribution facility, coordinated modifications to parking and stormwater detention areas, the relocation of existing storm sewer and water main, and the installation of storm sewer and water main improvements to avoid conflicts with existing sewers, water mains, dry utilities, and future construction.

County Highway Improvements
Provided construction observation, coordination and resident engineer related service for various roadway improvements and utility extensions within the right-of-way of Lake County, McHenry County, and other county highway/department of transportation roadways.

Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Services

Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Services
CGL has provided Soil Erosion and Sediment Control (SESC) Services for hundreds of projects in the region. Services include plan design, assistance with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) preparation, and permit submittal and coordination. SESC observations are provided based on NPDES requirements or at the request of the client. Observations include reports with suggestions for compliance, SWPPP updates, and coordination with the client and subcontractors. CGL has provided training to clients, as well as other groups on SESC requirements, and has worked with clients to develop their own SESC program on either a global or site specific basis.
