Town Square, Wheaton, Illinois Town Square Wheaton is one of the pioneer outdoor oriented "lifestyle" shopping centers. The design emulates the throwback to pre-mall shopping, yet caters to upscale tenants in and inviting atmosphere. CGL worked closely with the architect and project development team to design pleasing geometric traffic patterns and utility service to each building, and developed a plan for stormwater management which minimized surface area requirements without inconveniencing patrons of the shopping center.
Site Development Plans for Brinker, International, Wheaton, Illinois Provided complete entitlement plans and engineering design documents for numerous restaurant sites owned by Brinker, International, including Chili's, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Corner Bakery, Cozymel's, On the Border, Maggiano's Little Italy, and others.
Fox Lake Crossing, Fox Lake, Illinois A 30 acre retail shopping center adjacent to a pristine wetland, which includes a Dominick's Finer Foods, fuel center, and other retail stores. An extensive pile system was implemented to support significant building areas. Site design included enclosure of an existing large drainage channel, an IDNR dam breach review, reconstruction of a frontage road, and improvements to a Lake County Highway.
Woodman's Food Market, North Aurora, Illinois CGL prepared subdivision plats and engineering plan documents for the construction of a 236,000 SF specialty grocery store to facilitate the Woodman's chain in their growth into the Illinois market. The overall tract subdivided and developed with multiple outlots included approximately 51 acres.
Shoppes of Riverwoods, Riverwoods, Lake County, Illinois Provided engineering consulting services for the 7 acre retail center on Milwaukee Avenue. The entire site was below the Des Plaines River floodplain and deemed to be un-buildable. Through a variance in the Lake County Stormwater Ordinance, over half of the site was recovered to provide for the development of 30,000 SF of retail space.
